Garden hose and reel

Choose a garden hose that is just a bit longer than the distance from the tap to the furthest corner of your garden. The diameter is often given in inches: 1/2 inch is the standard for most gardens, 5/8 and 3/4 inch provide more water for long distances and sprinklers. A hose reel or hose cart keeps the hose neatly coiled. Automatic wall-mounted reels wind the hose back in by themselves.

Sprinklers and spray guns

• Oscillating sprinkler: sprays in a rectangle and is suitable for a rectangular lawn.
• Circular or sector sprinkler: sprays in a circle or part of one, handy in corners and along borders.
