How high should a garden bench be?
A dining garden bench has a seating height of approximately 45 cm, matching a dining table of 73-76 cm. A lounge bench is lower: 35-42 cm seating height, for a relaxed, comfortable sitting position. Choose consciously based on the purpose — dining or relaxing. Always measure the height of your existing table if you want to combine the bench with it.
Which garden bench matches my existing garden set?
Check the seating height (must match the table height) and the depth of the bench. A lounge bench doesn't work with a dining table and vice versa. Also look at the style and colour — the frame and upholstery can be from a different brand as long as the proportions and style match.
Is a garden bench more comfortable than garden chairs?
That depends on personal preference. A garden bench creates a social atmosphere because you sit next to each other. Garden chairs are individually adjustable and moveable. For prolonged comfort, thick cushions are essential. A lounge bench with a deep seat is comparable to an indoor sofa in terms of comfort.
Can a garden bench stay outside in winter?

Which garden bench material requires the least maintenance?
Aluminium is the most low-maintenance: rust-proof, cleanable with a damp cloth and resistant to all weather conditions. Wicker is a good second — also cleanable and weather-resistant. Wooden benches made from teak or acacia require periodic maintenance (oiling or cleaning with teak soap) to retain their original colour.
Can I place a garden bench on my balcony?
Yes, provided you take into account the available space and load capacity of your balcony. A compact loveseat (approximately 120 cm wide) fits most balconies. Choose a lightweight aluminium or wicker model that you can easily move. Keep at least 60 cm of walking space free around the bench.
How can I make my garden bench more comfortable?
