Privacy policy

Boender Outdoor (boenderoutdoor.nl) is a website of GNL-Commerce, a sole proprietorship of Gian Boender, Witte de Withstraat 3, 3262 XN Oud-Beijerland, the Netherlands, Chamber of Commerce (KvK) 80626904. GNL-Commerce is responsible for the processing of personal data via boenderoutdoor.nl. Privacy questions can be sent to info@boenderoutdoor.nl.

• Contact form and email: name, email address, optionally phone number and your message, to answer your question. Legal basis: legitimate interest. Kept for up to two years after handling.
• Newsletter: email address and optionally your name, to send you the newsletter. Legal basis: consent. You can unsubscribe via the link in every newsletter, after which we delete your data.
• Account, favourites and price alerts: your email address, your favourite products, your price alerts and the login links we send you, to save your favourites, log you in and email you when a price drops. Legal basis: performance of a contract (your account). Login links expire after 30 minutes. Kept until you delete your account, which you can do yourself on your account page.
• Reviews: your name, your rating, the title and text of your review and, if you fill it in, your email address. We check every review before it goes online. After that we show your name, your rating and your review with the product. We never show your email address; we only use it if we have a question about your review. Legal basis: consent. We keep your review for as long as it is online. Rejected reviews are deleted immediately. If you would like your review removed, email info@boenderoutdoor.nl.
• Business enquiries: name, company name, email address and optionally your website and message, when you request the media kit, want to advertise or list a showroom. We use this data to handle your request and send you the media kit. Legal basis: legitimate interest. Kept for up to two years after the last contact.
• Website statistics: data about your visit, such as pages viewed, device and (truncated) IP data, to improve the website. This only happens if you accept cookies. Legal basis: consent.
• Click counter: if you click a link to a shop, we count that click anonymously: which product, which shop, which language and on which day. We use no cookies for this and store no IP address or other data that could identify you.
• Security and error reports: technical data to block spam and fix problems. Legal basis: legitimate interest.

The newsletter, an account and reviews are intended for people aged 16 and over. If you are younger, please ask your parent or guardian for permission.

Boender Outdoor earns money through affiliate links. If you click a link to a shop and buy something there, we receive a fee from the shop. You do not pay more because of it. To attribute your purchase to us, the shop or the affiliate network places a cookie on its own website after your click, or uses a similar technique.

We currently work with:

• bol (the bol.com partner programme). If you click a link to bol, bol may place cookies to attribute your purchase to us.
• Amazon (Amazon Associates, amazon.nl). If you click a link to Amazon, Amazon may place cookies to attribute your purchase to us. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

We have also applied to the affiliate networks Awin, Daisycon, TradeTracker. As soon as shops from those networks appear on the site, the same rules apply to those links.

These parties are themselves responsible for the data they process; see their privacy policies. We do not receive any data from them that identifies you, only anonymous information about the click or purchase, such as the product, the amount and the fee.

On boenderoutdoor.nl itself we do not place cookies from shops or affiliate networks. Their cookies are only placed after your click, on their own website. If you do not want this, you can block third-party cookies in your browser.

We never sell your data. We work with service providers that process data on our behalf under a data processing agreement:

• Vercel: hosting of the website and storage of images (Vercel Blob).
• Neon: database for accounts, favourites, price alerts, reviews and the anonymous click counter. The servers are in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany).
• Resend: sending all emails from the website, such as login links, price alerts, contact form confirmations, review notifications and the media kit.
• MailerLite: sending the newsletter.
• Google (Tag Manager and Analytics): website statistics, only with your consent. Measurements run through our own subdomain tag.boenderoutdoor.nl.
• Cloudflare (Turnstile): spam protection for forms. Turnstile only loads when you use a form.
• Sentry: error reports.

In some places we also load content from other parties. Your browser then connects to their servers, so they see your IP address. They are themselves responsible for what they do with it:

• bol: product images of bol products are loaded directly from bol’s servers.
• Trustpilot: the review widget in the footer, only with your consent.
• YouTube: embedded videos, via youtube-nocookie.com.

Some of these parties process data outside the European Economic Area. This only happens with appropriate safeguards, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Necessary (always, without consent):

• session: keeps you logged in if you have an account (up to 90 days).
• bo-consent: your cookie choice.
• bo-compare: the products in your comparison.
• bo-search-history: your recent searches.
• bo-relaunch-seen, newsletter-subscribed and newsletter-exit-dismissed-at: remember that you have already seen a notice or signed up, so we do not show it again.

Apart from the session cookie, we keep this data in your browser itself (localStorage).

Analytics (only with your consent):

• _ga and _ga_*: Google Analytics, to see how the site is used.

With your consent we also load the Trustpilot review widget.

We do not use advertising or marketing cookies. If you click a link to a shop, that shop (or the affiliate network) places its own cookies on its own website; the shop’s cookie policy applies to those.

You can withdraw your consent at any time via ‘Cookie settings’ at the bottom of every page. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings.

Until 2026, Boender Outdoor was a web shop of BoenderXL E-commerce B.V. We do not use data of customers of that web shop for this website. It is only kept for as long as the statutory retention obligation applies (7 years for the accounts) and deleted after that. Do you have a question about your data as a former customer? You have the right to access, rectify or erase your data, to restrict processing, to object and to data portability. You can withdraw consent at any time. Send your request to info@boenderoutdoor.nl; we respond within one month.

We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing, such as profiling with legal effects.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or the supervisory authority in your own country.

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, such as an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and restricted access.

We may update this privacy policy. The current version is always on this page, with the date of the last change.
