Rotisserie barilo&fratello – Rotisserie Spit for Perfect Rotisserie on Your Boretti Barbecue

The Rotisserie barilo&fratello by Boretti is the must-have accessory for lovers of authentic grilled meat with that irresistible rotisserie flavour. This high-quality rotisserie spit system transforms your Boretti barilo or fratello barbecue into a professional rotisserie installation, allowing you to prepare chicken, rolled roasts, leg of lamb or even whole pigs as you know them from the best grill restaurants. Boretti, the Dutch brand with refined Italian design that you know from The Great Garden Renovation, combines functionality with durability in an accessory that takes your barbecue possibilities to the next level.

The system is completely manufactured from high-quality stainless steel in an elegant silver finish that seamlessly complements the aesthetic of your Boretti barbecue. The robust construction ensures that you can roast even heavier cuts of meat without any problems, whilst the uniform rotation guarantees that the meat is grilled to perfection on all sides. The result? Tender, juicy dishes with a golden-brown crust that will impress your guests. With this professional rotisserie, you bring the ambiance and flavour of an Italian trattoria to your own garden.

Features & Benefits of the Rotisserie barilo&fratello

High-Quality Stainless Steel for Years of Grilling Pleasure

The complete stainless steel construction means this rotisserie can withstand the high temperatures and weather conditions that come with outdoor cooking. Stainless steel doesn't rust, doesn't warp from heat and maintains its elegant appearance season after season. The silver finish perfectly matches the cast-iron grates and characteristic design of your Boretti barbecue, ensuring a professional, cohesive appearance of your complete barbecue setup.

Compatible with Boretti barilo and fratello Models

This rotisserie has been specifically developed for the popular Boretti barilo and fratello barbecues, which means the fit is perfect and installation is straightforward. The mounting points align precisely with the prepared assembly locations of these models, so you can start rotisserie grilling without any fuss. This specific compatibility also guarantees optimal performance, as the rotation axle is positioned at the correct height above the cast-iron grates and burners for ideal heat distribution.

Electric Motor for Constant Rotation

The electric drive system provides continuous, uniform rotation of your meat without you having to keep an eye on it. This constant movement is essential for rotisserie success: the meat cooks evenly all around, the meat's own fat continuously drips over it, keeping it extra juicy, and you get that perfect golden-brown crust over the entire surface. The motor is powerful enough for cuts of meat weighing several kilograms, yet runs quietly and efficiently.

Professional Meat Skewers and Forks

The system comes with robust stainless steel meat skewers and adjustable forks that keep your meat firmly in place whilst rotating. The forks are adjustable, so you can securely fix both a small chicken and a large rolled roast. The pointed prongs grip deep into the meat without damaging it, and the construction is designed so the weight remains well-distributed for perfect balance during rotation.

Applications

Whole Chickens and Poultry

The classic application: a whole chicken on the spit rotating slowly over the heat. The meat's own fat continuously drips over it, making the skin delightfully crispy whilst the meat remains tender and juicy. Duck, turkey or pheasant are also prepared this way to perfection. Season the meat inside and out, switch on the motor, and within an hour and a half you'll enjoy rotisserie quality that you'd otherwise only find in specialist restaurants.

Rolled Roasts and Braising Cuts

Stuffed pork roulade, beef tenderloin or leg of lamb: larger cuts of meat that are difficult to cook evenly on a regular grill are ideal for the rotisserie. The rotating motion ensures that heat penetrates evenly throughout, whilst the meat continuously bastes itself with its own juices. The result is meat that is pink and juicy inside, with a perfectly browned exterior bursting with flavour.

Spiced Meat Dishes and Specialities

Experiment with gyro-like preparations by threading spiced meat in layers onto the spit, or make your own porchetta by wrapping belly pork around the skewer. The rotisserie opens up a whole world of cooking techniques impossible with standard grilling. Even vegetables such as whole cauliflower or pineapples undergo a spectacular transformation on the rotisserie spit, with caramelised exteriors and perfectly cooked centres.

Assembly & Use

Assembling the Rotisserie barilo&fratello is straightforward thanks to the specific fit for these Boretti models. The brackets are attached to the designated mounting locations on either side of your barbecue, after which the rotation axle can be inserted. The electric motor is mounted on one side and connected – check that you have a suitable power socket nearby for the supply. Follow the included instructions carefully to ensure everything is secure and perfectly balanced.

For first use, it's advisable to clean the stainless steel components with warm water and washing-up liquid to remove any manufacturing residue. Allow everything to dry thoroughly before you start. When threading meat, balance is crucial: make sure the meat is centred on the skewer and the forks are firmly tightened. Test whether the meat is properly balanced by rotating the spit manually once – if it rotates jerkily, adjust the position accordingly. A well-balanced cut of meat rotates smoothly and puts less strain on the motor.

After use, it's important to clean the rotisserie thoroughly, although the system is not dishwasher safe. Clean the skewers and forks with a stiff brush and warm soapy water whilst they're still warm – this is the easiest way to remove grease residue. The motor itself must stay dry; wipe it clean only with a damp cloth. Store the rotisserie dry and protected, preferably indoors or in a dry shed, to maximise its lifespan. Check before each season that all mounting points are secure and the motor starts smoothly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is This Rotisserie Only Suitable for the barilo and fratello Models?

Yes, this rotisserie is specifically designed for Boretti barilo and fratello barbecues. The mounting points, dimensions and motor position are tuned to these models. Separate rotisserie systems are available for other Boretti models. Always check compatibility before ordering – at Boender Outdoor we're happy to help you find the right accessory for your barbecue.

How Heavy Can the Meat Be That I Put on the Spit?

The motor and construction are designed for cuts of meat up to approximately 3-4 kilograms, which is sufficient for a large chicken, substantial roast or leg of lamb. What matters most is not just the weight, but also the balance: a well-centred and balanced 4 kilo cut puts less strain than a poorly balanced 2 kilo cut. Start with smaller cuts to gain experience with balancing.

Do I Need to Have All Burners On During Rotisserie Grilling?

No, when rotisserie grilling on a gas barbecue, you actually use indirect heat. Only switch on the rear burner(s) and leave the burners directly under the meat off. The meat then slowly cooks through circulating hot air, whilst the rotation ensures even browning. Ideally maintain the temperature between 160-180°C for most applications. With a charcoal grill, place the coals to the sides or back, not directly under the meat.

Can I Leave the Rotisserie Outside?

Although the stainless steel material is weather-resistant, we recommend dismantling the rotisserie after use and storing it dry and protected. The electric motor is sensitive to moisture, and prolonged exposure to the elements can shorten its lifespan. If you cover the barbecue with a cover whilst the rotisserie is still mounted, make sure everything is completely dry to prevent moisture buildup.

How Long Does It Take to Prepare a Chicken with the Rotisserie?

An average 1.5 kilogram chicken is ready in approximately 60-75 minutes at a temperature of 170-180°C. Larger chickens or other meat will take longer – allow approximately 45-60 minutes per kilogram as a rough guide. Always use a meat thermometer to check that the meat has reached the correct internal temperature: 75°C for chicken, 63-65°C for pink pork or lamb. The rotating motion ensures even cooking, but check regularly nonetheless.
