Compare Formidra Outdoor Showers

Formidra is the outdoor shower brand of the French pool company Poolstar. The showers are made for beside the pool, the hot tub or simply in the garden. On this page you compare Formidra outdoor showers with the key specifications and the current price at the retailer. Boender Outdoor does not sell anything itself: you always order from the retailer, with their delivery and terms.

The Formidra models

  • So Happy: a 28-litre solar shower with a plastic (HDPE) column and a foot rinse, in colours including anthracite and green.
  • Cobra: a 32-litre solar shower in a curved plastic shape, with a foot rinse.
  • Jolly Go: a 20-litre solar shower with an aluminium column, in several colours.
  • Dada: a hybrid shower in aluminium. The water warms up in the sun, and you can also connect the shower to your home's hot water. The Dada Straight is straight, the Dada Curve has a curved top.

Solar or hybrid?

With a solar shower you connect the garden hose and the water in the column warms up in the sun. The more litres, the more warm water is ready; the Capacity filter shows this per model. On a cloudy day the water stays cooler. A hybrid model such as the Dada can also be connected to your home's hot water, so you depend less on the sun. You do need an outdoor hot and cold water connection for that.

What to look for

Start with the spot: an outdoor shower is best placed on a level, firm surface where the water can drain away, such as paving or gravel. If you want to rinse sand and grass off your feet before you get into the pool, choose a model with a foot rinse; the Type filter shows them separately. An aluminium column feels sturdy, a plastic column is lighter and comes in more colours.

Showering safely

In full sun the water in a solar shower can get hot. Let some water run first and check the temperature before you step under it, especially with children. Fix the shower down with the fixing kit and connect it as the manual describes. Drain the shower before winter if the manual says so, so no water freezes inside.

Maintenance

Rinse the shower head now and then so limescale and dirt do not block the spray, and check the garden hose connection for leaks. Wipe the column clean with water and a soft cloth; abrasive cleaners can damage the surface. If you will not use the shower for a while, turn off the tap on the garden hose.

Comparing prices

The same shower can have a different price per colour and over time. On this page you see the current price at the retailer; click through for the delivery time and terms. When comparing, also check what is included, such as a fixing kit, a mixer tap or a foot rinse.
