- Standing lights: garden posts and pedestal lights such as Qubo, Heros, Cate and Gemini XF, the Cuba path light and the London solar lamp post.
- Spike lights: including the Havana in a pack of four and the smart Connect Ginbo and Mini Leto.
- Ambient lighting: portable table lamps such as Miyi, Table Cube, Roble and the rechargeable Connect Pepper.
Solar power
A large share of Lutec lights runs on solar power, such as Arrow, Briti, Doblo, Moze, Try and Wings. A light like this needs no cable, but the panel has to get enough light during the day. On a north-facing wall, under an overhang or in winter, a solar light stays on for a shorter time. If you want light every evening, choose a mains-powered model (230 V).
Motion sensor and security
Many models have a PIR motion sensor that switches the light on when someone comes near, such as Arc, Leda, Brick and Telis. Security wall lights such as Shrimp, Chimera and Solis give plenty of light for a driveway or back door. The title often shows the colour temperature: 3000K is warm white, 4000K a more neutral white.
Smart: Lutec Connect
Lights with Connect in the name are controlled through an app, such as the Tuda wall light with solar and sensor and the portable Noma. Other smart brands can be found in smart garden lighting.
How to compare Lutec
Check the IP rating: IP44 is splash-proof, IP54 also gives better protection against dust. With the filters you choose by type, power source (mains, solar, battery), IP rating, motion sensor, colour and material. Sort by price and order from the shop itself. More brands can be found under garden lighting.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a Lutec solar light stay on?
That depends on how much light the panel gets during the day. In summer and on a sunny wall the light stays on longer than in winter or in a shady spot. Check the stated burning time on the product page.
Which Lutec lights have a motion sensor?
Models with PIR or sensor in the name, such as Arc, Leda, Qubo, Brick, Telis and Shrimp. With the motion sensor filter you see them together straight away.
What is Lutec Connect?
Connect is the smart line from Lutec. These lights are controlled through an app, for example to set the brightness or the colour of the light.
Is IP44 enough for a Lutec wall light?
Under an overhang or canopy, IP44 is usually enough. If the light is directly exposed to rain, choose a model rated IP54 or higher.
