What will you find from Mobicool?

Thermoelectric cooling

A thermoelectric cool box cools its contents to a fixed number of degrees below the outside temperature. That is more than enough to keep food and drink cool during a car journey or on a day that is not too hot. The models with an AC/DC connection plug into the cigarette lighter in the car and into the mains socket on the campsite or at home, so you can let the box cool down in advance.

Compressor for longer trips

The MCF60 works with a compressor, just like a fridge. It holds the temperature you set, even in warm weather, which makes it suitable for a longer holiday or a trip in a motorhome. A compressor cool box is heavier and more expensive than a thermoelectric one, but also more economical in use. Check the dimensions in the product details so that the box fits in your vehicle.

What should you look for when choosing?

First look at the capacity: for a day out a cool box of around 20 litres is enough, while for a weekend with more people you would rather choose 30 to 40 litres. Also pay attention to the connections. A cool box that only runs on 12 volts is for use in the car; with a 230 volt connection you can also let it cool at home or on the campsite. A model with wheels, such as the MQ40W, is easier to move when it is full. Think about whether bottles need to stand upright and how much space is left in the boot once everything is packed.

Use and maintenance

Pre-cool an electric cool box at home on 230 volts before you set off, and fill it with items that are already cold. In the car, do not put it right up against a piece of luggage, so the fan can draw in air freely. Clean the cool box after use with a damp cloth and leave the lid ajar when you store it, so no musty smell develops. Open a cool bag out after use and let it dry thoroughly before you put it away.
