Compare camp kitchen gear: stoves, barbecues and cookware

Cooking on the campsite is a lot easier with the right gear. In the camp kitchen you compare camping stoves, portable camping barbecues and cookware sets, with the current price at the shop. Camping stoves

A camping stove with one burner is compact and light, such as the lightweight burners from Primus for treks. With two burners you can cook pasta and sauce at the same time, as on the Campingaz Camping Kitchen or the Cadac 2 Cook. Some stoves have a windshield in the lid, which makes a big difference on a windy campsite. Think about how many people you usually cook for before you choose.

Gas and connection

Check which gas the stove uses: a cartridge you screw or click on, a pierceable cartridge or a gas bottle with a hose and pressure regulator. With gas bottles the working pressure counts, for example 30 or 50 mbar, which is listed with the product. Always cook outside or under an open awning and never in a closed tent.

Windshield and ignition

Wind can weaken the flame of a camping stove considerably, so cooking takes longer and uses more gas. A stove with a lid that also works as a windshield, as on many two-burner models, helps with this. A built-in piezo ignition is handy: you then do not need to bring a lighter or matches.

Camping barbecues and cookware sets

A cookware set for camping nests together and often has detachable handles, such as the sets from Brunner, Bo-Camp and Primus. Nesting pans take up little space in the car or your rucksack, so check the number of pieces and the size of the largest pan.
