Gazebos and camping shelters: compare prices

Which type to choose?

• Gazebo: a square or rectangular roof on legs, often with a frame that unfolds in one go.
• Sun shade: a light roof for shade, without walls.
• Shelter: a freestanding tent with an open or closable front, for example as a kitchen or seating area next to the tent.
• Side wall: a separate wall you hang on a gazebo or shelter, against wind, sun or rain.

Size and frame

A gazebo of 3 x 3 metres is a popular size for a group around a table; for a small pitch, 2 x 2 metres is often enough. Also look at the frame: steel is sturdy but heavier, aluminium is lighter to carry. Also check the height if you want to stand underneath comfortably. The size filter shows the gazebos by size.

Setting it up safely

A gazebo catches a lot of wind. Always secure it with pegs or weights on the legs and guy lines, and take the fabric off in strong wind. Do not cook under a closed gazebo or shelter. Pegs and guy lines are in tent accessories.

Storage and care

Let the fabric of a gazebo or shelter dry properly before packing it away, otherwise mould can form. Brush off sand and leaves and store the tent in its bag in a dry place. Let an inflatable shelter deflate completely before rolling it up.
