What to consider when choosing a parasol?
- Size: a parasol should be at least as large as the area to be shaded. Calculation: table 120x80 cm → parasol at least Ø 300 cm.
- Base: a good parasol base is heavy enough to keep the parasol stable — allow approximately 10-15 kg per metre diameter.
- Fabric material: Olefin and Spuncrylic are the most UV-resistant and colour-fast fabrics; UPF 50+ offers the best protection.
- Tilt function: a tilt function allows you to adjust the shade according to the sun — ideal for the afternoon sun.

Colours available in this category
Within this parasol sub-category you'll find multiple colour options, such as black, anthracite, grey, white and beige variants. This way you can easily match the parasol to your garden set, facade and garden style.
Available sizes within this category
Many models are available in multiple sizes, including compact formats for a balcony or city garden and larger versions for spacious terraces. Pay attention to the shape of your table or seating area: rectangular arrangements often call for a rectangular parasol size, whilst round arrangements work better with a round parasol.
Handy combination: type + colour + size
For the best choice, combine three factors: the right type of parasol, a matching colour and the right size. This way you choose not only a beautiful parasol, but also a model that works well in practice every day.

Frequently asked questions
How do I choose a parasol size?
The parasol should be at least as large as the table plus the chairs around it. Rule of thumb: add 1 metre to the longest side of your table configuration. A table of 180 cm requires at least a parasol of Ø 300 cm. For a round table of Ø 120 cm, a parasol of Ø 250 cm is sufficient.
Do I need a parasol hole in my table?
This depends on the table. Many outdoor dining tables have a parasol hole in the middle (standard diameter 38 or 48 mm). If your table doesn't have a parasol hole, use the supplied parasol base which stands next to or under the table.
What is a tilt function on a parasol?
With a tilt function you can set the parasol fabric at an angle, so the shade works well even when the sun is low or from the side. This is very useful for morning and evening sun. Most quality parasols have this function.
How do I secure a parasol in the wind?
A heavy parasol base (10-15 kg per metre diameter) is essential. Always use ground anchoring or a support plate on soft surfaces. Always close the parasol in wind force 4 or above, or when you leave the garden.
How do I clean a parasol?
Open the parasol and rinse the fabric with lukewarm water. Use a soft brush and parasol fabric cleaner for stubborn stains. Let the fabric dry completely before closing to prevent mould growth.
