Who is Apple Bee?
Apple Bee is a Dutch brand for premium outdoor furniture, founded in 1993 in Dongen. The brand positions itself as a “leading outdoor brand” and designs according to the principle “form follows function” — timeless lines, rest and balance, combined with high-quality materials and craftsmanship.
Over the years, Apple Bee developed two of its own signature technologies: Biculair® weave (1995), a durable and recyclable alternative to natural rattan, and the BEE WETT® cushion technology (2003) — cushions with an open cell structure that dry incredibly fast after a rain shower. Materials and quality level
Teak
Series such as Sling are built entirely from solid, SVLK-certified teak — an Indonesian certification for responsibly managed forests, comparable to FSC. Teak also appears as an accent in armrests or tabletops on series such as Cocoon and Condor. Teak is naturally resistant to moisture, mould and insects and requires almost no maintenance.
Aluminium
Series such as Condor, Bora Bora, Santorini and Pine Key use a powder-coated aluminium frame — rust-proof, lightweight and virtually maintenance-free. The powder coating is applied evenly and stays colourfast, even after years outdoors.
Weave: Biculair®
Apple Bee's own Biculair® weave is thicker and more durable than standard PE rattan and is 100% recyclable. You'll find it as rope (Bora Bora, Santorini) and as woven wire in seat surfaces (Cocoon). The colours are UV-resistant and the weave stays tightly strung, even after several seasons.
Tabletops: sintered stone and ceramic
Dining and coffee tables are often supplied with tops in sintered stone or ceramic (Travertino look) — both are scratch-resistant, heat-resistant and virtually maintenance-free. If you prefer a more natural look, tabletops in certified teak are also available.
BEE WETT® cushions
Almost all Apple Bee lounge sets, dining sets and individual lounge sofas and chairs come standard with BEE WETT® cushions. Thanks to the open cell structure and water-repellent outer fabric, they're fully usable again within an hour of a rain shower — and they're mould-resistant and UV-resistant enough to stay outside all season. Honest quality assessment
Apple Bee clearly positions itself in the higher segment of the garden furniture market. Where a brand like Garden Impressions sits in the premium mid-range segment (sets from roughly €800 to €2,800), Apple Bee moves clearly towards the top segment with complete lounge sets reaching almost €6,000. That shows in the details: heavier aluminium, thicker weave, proprietary cushion technology, and tabletops in sintered stone or ceramic rather than standard glass or wood.
For that price you also get noticeably more: a sturdier construction, more consistent finishing, and materials that are clearly thicker and more durable than budget and mid-range brands. Apple Bee isn't the cheapest garden furniture brand in our range, but it's one of the brands customers are still happy with years later.
Price positioning
- Individual garden chairs: €279–€699
- Individual lounge chairs: €399–€2,495
- Lounge sofas: €695–€3,168
- Garden and side tables: €90–€2,430
- Dining sets: €1,999–€5,695
- Complete lounge sets: €2,190–€5,999
The exact price depends heavily on the chosen series, dimensions and material combination — a Condor lounge set with an aluminium frame often sits at the lower end of the range, while a large Sling XL corner set in solid teak sits at the upper end.
Warranty and customer service
Apple Bee gives 3 years' full warranty on almost the entire range — the brand's standard. A small number of products carry a different term (2 or 5 years), depending on material and construction. When in doubt, always check the product page for the exact warranty term of your chosen model. Buying through an authorised dealer like Boender Outdoor also means you benefit from our own service and support if any issues arise.
Customer experiences
Based on the feedback we receive at Boender Outdoor, these are the most commonly mentioned points:
Positive:
- Noticeably higher finish quality than mid-range brands — the difference is immediately noticeable.
- BEE WETT® cushions genuinely work: after a rain shower you're often sitting dry again within the hour.
- Timeless design that doesn't feel dated even after years.
- Wide choice of series and configurations, so there's something for almost every garden and budget within the premium segment.
- Teak series (Sling) age beautifully and need almost no maintenance.
Critical points:
- The entry price is noticeably higher than mid-range brands — Apple Bee isn't a budget choice.
- For the larger modular sets, delivery can take a few weeks during peak periods (spring/early summer).
- Not every series has the same warranty term, so check this per model if in doubt.
Popular series
- Sling: Fully solid SVLK teak, modular build, with the signature high backrest. Read the complete Sling guide.
- Condor: Aluminium frame with teak accents, modern look, and also available as a dining set (including Zanzibar and Melville tabletops in sintered stone). Read the comparison Condor or Sling.
- Bora Bora: Rope series in taupe, often paired with ceramic or sintered stone tables. Wide range from complete lounge sets to individual low dining sets.
- Cocoon: Soft, rounded shapes with bouclé fabric and Biculair® weave in mocha or cream — one of the most inviting series for a modern garden.
- Santorini: Rope series with a light, Mediterranean look, suited to anyone after a lighter colour palette than Bora Bora.
Is Apple Bee worth it?
Yes, provided your budget matches the premium segment Apple Bee sits in. For anyone looking for a garden furniture brand with its own recognisable cushion technology, high-quality materials and a timeless design that lasts for years, Apple Bee is one of the strongest choices in our range. If you're mainly after a sharp price, look instead at a mid-range brand such as Garden Impressions.
