Buying stackable sun loungers: everything you need to know
Do you have multiple sun loungers but limited storage space? Then stackable sun loungers are the ideal solution. They take up hardly any space when you're not using them.
What are stackable sun loungers?
Stackable sun loungers are designed so they can be efficiently stacked on top of each other. Typically, 4–8 sun loungers fit in the space of one standard sun lounger. Popular at swimming pools, holiday parks and larger gardens.
Material: aluminium or polywood?
Stackable sun loungers are almost always made of aluminium: light enough to stack and carry, and rust-proof by a swimming pool. Read more in our sun lounger materials comparison.
Stability
- Width of the legs: spread wide provides more stability.
- Connection points: choose anodised aluminium, not plastic screws.
- Maximum weight capacity: minimum 100–120 kg.
- Anti-slip feet: rubber caps prevent sliding on tiles.
Covering
Choose textiles or quick-dry foam. Textiles dry extremely quickly after rain or a dip. Avoid thick cushions on stackable sun loungers.
Adjustable backrest
Check that the adjustment works smoothly and locks in the chosen position.
