What is a cross-foot?
A cross-foot is a stable parasol base in the shape of a cross (X). The four arms are weighted down with concrete tiles or weighted blocks. The parasol's mast is attached in the centre of the cross. Cross-feet are typically supplied as standard with many cantilever parasols, but are also available separately as a replacement or upgrade.

Weighting your cross-foot
The stability of your parasol depends on the weight on the cross-foot. Work with these guidelines:
- Cantilever parasol 250×250 cm — minimum 60–80 kg (4 tiles of 15–20 kg)
- Cantilever parasol 300×300 cm — minimum 90–120 kg (4 tiles of 25–30 kg)
- Cantilever parasol 350–400 cm — minimum 120–160 kg (4 tiles of 30–40 kg)
Always use concrete tiles that fit precisely on your cross-foot arms. With most brands, matching tiles can be ordered separately.
