A cantilever parasol offers more flexibility as the mast is positioned to the side, giving you full shade over a table or lounge set without obstruction. Material and design

The mast of a centre pole parasol is typically made of aluminium or hardwood. Aluminium is lightweight, rust-resistant and low-maintenance. Wooden masts — often teak or eucalyptus — give a warm, classic look. The canopy is usually polyester or olefin and offers UV protection of UPF 30+. • Ø 200–250 cm — ideal for a balcony or 2-person table
• Ø 270–300 cm — most popular size, suitable for a table up to 150 cm
• Ø 350–400 cm — for large terraces and outdoor kitchens

Tip: choose a parasol that is at least 80 cm wider than your table for adequate shade on all sides.

The right parasol base

A good parasol base is essential for the stability of your centre pole parasol. Allow for 10 to 15 kg base weight per metre of parasol diameter. A centre pole parasol of Ø 300 cm therefore needs a base of at least 30 kg. Choose an in-ground parasol base if you want to keep the parasol permanently in one place, or a wheeled base for maximum flexibility.
