When do you choose a large parasol?

A large parasol (300 cm or larger) is the right choice if:

Large pole parasol or cantilever parasol?

Large parasols are available as pole parasol and cantilever parasol. You install a large pole parasol through a table hole or in a heavy base — the advantage is a lower price and simple operation. A large cantilever parasol offers more flexibility: the side post doesn't get in the way and the canopy is rotatable 360°. For above a dining table a pole parasol is often most practical; above a lounge set or sun lounger you're better off choosing a cantilever parasol.

Base and anchoring for large parasols

The larger the parasol, the heavier the base must be. For a 300 cm parasol count on a minimum base weight of 30–50 kg; for 350–400 cm 80–120 kg is necessary. Consider an in-ground parasol base for permanent, rock-solid anchoring or a wheeled base if you want to be able to move the parasol. A cross base with concrete paving is the most commonly used solution.

Maintenance of large parasol

Clean the shade canopy a few times per season with lukewarm water and mild soap. Always close a large parasol in wind force 5+. Protect the canopy outside the season with a parasol cover.
