Do the wheels work on grass?
On short grass and flat lawns, most wheels work well. On soft or wet grass, the wheels may sink. Use base plates in that case.
Are mobile bases as stable as fixed bases?
With the wheel brakes engaged, mobile bases are nearly as stable as fixed concrete bases. In strong wind, you only need to close the parasol, not move the base.
Can I convert an existing base to wheels?
Universal wheel bases exist where you can place an existing concrete base. Check the maximum load and the dimensions of the base.
