Compare fire bowls: Corten steel, steel and cast iron
A fire bowl is low and wide, so a group can sit around it and enjoy a good view of the fire. Many bowls are also suitable for cooking. Here you compare fire bowls from BonFeu, CookKing, RedFire, Esschert Design, Höfats and Petromax, with the current price at the shop.
Material and design
You will find fire bowls in black steel, in Corten steel with a rust-brown layer, such as the BonFeu BonBowl and the Höfats Triple, and in cast iron. There are bowls on legs, on a round base or as a tabletop model, and bowls with a log store underneath, such as the BonFeu BonBiza and several RedFire models. Use the Material and Colour filters to compare finishes.
What to look for
- Diameter: the Diameter filter helps you choose a bowl that suits your patio and the number of people, from compact models to bowls of 150 cm.
- Cooking: the With grill grate filter shows which bowls have a grate or plancha, such as the RedFire Onyx Classic and the RedFire Mikor.
- Rainwater: a bowl collects rain. A lid or protective cover from the accessories keeps it dry.
Burning safely
Only use a fire bowl in the open air, never under a canopy, pergola, parasol or roof. Place it on a stable, non-combustible surface such as paving or gravel and keep plenty of distance from your house, trees, hedges and fences. Burn dry, untreated wood, never leave the fire unattended and only throw away the ashes once they have cooled down completely.

Prefer a taller basket with open sides? Take a look at the fire baskets. There are also fire bowls that, according to the manufacturer, produce less smoke; you will find them among the low-smoke fire pits. You can see the full range under fire pits and fire bowls.
Frequently asked questions
What size fire bowl do I need?
That depends on your space and the number of people. A larger bowl seats more people but also needs more free space around it, because you keep plenty of distance from anything that can burn. The Diameter filter lets you compare sizes.
What should I do with rainwater in a fire bowl?
Empty out the water and ashes after a shower so they do not stay in the bowl. A lid or protective cover keeps the bowl dry when you are not using it. Only put it on once the fire is completely out and cooled down.
Can I grill on a fire bowl?
With many bowls, yes. Some come with a grill grate or plancha, for others you buy one separately. Choose a grate or plancha that matches the diameter or model of your bowl.
