Which Grill Guru suits you?
Torn between a kamado and a gas barbecue? Look at how you cook. A kamado runs on charcoal. Its thick wall holds heat for a long time and the air vents control the temperature, so you can grill hot as well as smoke low and slow for hours. A gas barbecue is ready faster and easy to control burner by burner. In kamado or gas barbecue we set out the differences.
If you go for a kamado, the size depends on how many people you cook for. A Compact is enough for one or two people, a Medium suits a family, and a Large or XL gives room for guests and for indirect cooking alongside direct grilling. Between the Original and the Prime the difference lies mainly in build and finish: the Original is grey, the Prime black. Compare the specifications of each model on the product page.
With the gas barbecues, the number of burners increases from the Burner 3 to the Burner 6. The infrared burner is intended for searing meat quickly. If you mainly cook vegetables, fish and eggs, a plancha is an alternative to a grate.
Grill Guru accessories
There are many size-specific accessories for the kamados. A platesetter turns the kamado into an oven for indirect cooking and pizza. You will also find, among other things:
- Grates and griddle plates: cast-iron grates, half moon griddles, a Powerplate and pans
- Pizza accessories: pizza stones in several sizes, a Pizza Box, a folding pizza peel and a pizza cutter
- Tools: tongs, spatulas, bear claws, gloves and brushes
- Covers: rain covers for Compact, Medium and Large
- Charcoal and fire starters: Grill Guru charcoal and a One Minute Lighter
There are also grill elevators, a rotisserie, drip pans, a Multilevel System, a cold smoker set, a tubes smoker kit and replacement felt gaskets. Check the product page to see whether an accessory fits your model and size. Also read kamado accessories: what do you need?
