4 Seasons Outdoor reviews: what can you expect? (2026)

Table of contents

4 Seasons Outdoor is a Dutch garden furniture brand in the upper segment. You may know it from the Montera and Puccini lounge sets with rope and teak, the modular Martinique corner sets in amber or the Siesta Premium cantilever parasols. But what can you expect, what is Taste by 4 Seasons and what should you check before you order? To be honest up front: we don't collect our own customer reviews. Everything we mention comes from the product information we compare and from the ratings on bol.

💡

In short: 4 Seasons Outdoor offers lounge sets, dining sets, tables, sun loungers and cantilever parasols in series with fixed colours such as latte, terre, amber and anthracite. The frames are powder-coated aluminium or stainless steel, with rope, teak and ceramic. The price level is close to Apple Bee. Taste by 4 Seasons is the more accessible line of the same brand. The warranty varies per product.

4 Seasons Outdoor: what kind of brand is it?

4 Seasons Outdoor makes garden furniture and parasols: lounge sets and lounge sofas, dining sets, garden tables with a ceramic, teak or HPL top, separate chairs, sun loungers, footstools and large cantilever parasols. On Boender Outdoor you can compare more than 270 available products from the brand, plus almost a hundred from the Taste by 4 Seasons line.

The brand works in series that you can combine. In the Montera series, for example, you will find lounge sets, a lounge sofa, an armchair, a lounge chair and a sun lounger for two. The tables, such as Volta, Boaz and Salute, come back in several sets. That way you can add a footstool or a second coffee table to a set later. All available products are on the 4 Seasons Outdoor brand page.

The collections and series of 4 Seasons Outdoor

Materials: aluminium, rope, teak and ceramic

4 Seasons Outdoor often combines two or three materials in one piece of furniture. This is what the product information says:

MaterialWhat the product information saysMaintenance
Aluminium and stainless steelPowder-coated frames in latte, terre, amber or anthraciteMild soapy water, rinse
RopeOlefin outer layer, polypropylene core, mould-resistantLukewarm water, soft brush
TeakTabletops and armrests, partly FSC-certifiedLet it go grey or oil it
CeramicTabletops, also as a print on toughened glassDamp cloth
Olefin and SolefinCushion covers and parasol canopiesBrush, store dry

In Cannes, Martinique and other series, the rope has an Olefin outer layer according to the description, repels dirt and has high UV protection. Read more in what is rope? and maintaining rope garden furniture. Teak is used on low tables such as the Volta, Yoga and Cosmic and on the Capri dining table; untreated it turns silver grey, see what is teak? and treating teak for outdoor use. Ceramic is hard and resists sun and stains, but it is heavy; read the pros and cons of a ceramic tabletop.

Taste by 4 Seasons: the more accessible line

Taste is a line within 4 Seasons Outdoor; the product information for Taste items also lists 4 Seasons Outdoor as the brand. On Boender Outdoor these products are on the Taste by 4 Seasons brand page: dining sets with ceramic tables such as Manolo and Donato, stackable chairs such as the Barista and Manitoba, and lounge sets such as Cannes and Puglia.

The prices show that Taste is the more accessible line. For the available lounge sets, the median price is around 2,200 euros at Taste versus around 3,600 euros at 4 Seasons Outdoor itself; for dining sets it is about 2,100 versus 3,300 euros. The colours are the same, and Taste also uses aluminium, rope and ceramic. Lounge sets with teak, modular corner sets and cantilever parasols are only found at 4 Seasons Outdoor itself.

Price and quality: what do you get for your money?

To make the price level concrete, we put the available products of a few brands side by side. The amounts are rounded and meant as an indication, because prices change daily.

BrandLounge sets, median priceDining sets, median price
Apple Beeabout 3,900 eurosabout 3,700 euros
4 Seasons Outdoorabout 3,600 eurosabout 3,300 euros
Taste by 4 Seasonsabout 2,200 eurosabout 2,100 euros
Garden Impressionsabout 1,100 eurosabout 700 euros

What do you get for that? Luxury at 4 Seasons Outdoor isn't about one label, but about the sum of the parts: powder-coated aluminium, rope with an Olefin outer layer, teak and ceramic, in series you can put side by side. Add to that the design, with organic shapes such as the pebble-shaped Arizona table and the curved Piacenza sofa, and rope that is hand-woven according to the description of the Montera sun lounger. Many lounge sets come with a table from the brand's own series, such as the Volta with the Montera.

Luxury at 4 Seasons Outdoor isn't about one label, but about the sum of the parts: powder-coated aluminium, rope with an Olefin outer layer, teak and ceramic, in series you can put side by side.

A higher price doesn't automatically give you a longer warranty, see warranty and maintenance. Why prices vary so much is explained in why are lounge sets so expensive?

4 Seasons Outdoor reviews: what can you expect?

On Boender Outdoor, we don't collect our own customer reviews, and we won't make them up either. On bol, ratings for 4 Seasons Outdoor are still scarce: three of the more than 270 available products have one, each time a single rating. For Taste it is also three. Of the models in this article, only the Taste Barista chair set has a rating: one time 4 stars. That is too little to say anything about the brand. What we can show is what the product information promises.

What you can expect

  • Series that go together. Sofas, chairs, footstools and tables from one series share the same colour.
  • Cushions included. Almost all lounge sets come with cushions.
  • Often a table in the set. About half of the lounge sets include a coffee table or lounge table.

What to check yourself

  • What is in the set. For the Molina 3-piece the specs say "table included: no", while the Montera 4-piece includes the Volta table.
  • Specifications that contradict each other. For the 80 cm Volta coffee table the specs list a diameter of 45 cm, and for the Manolo/Cortina set a round table while the top is 180 x 95 cm. Go by the title and the photos.
  • Assembly and delivery. Some sets arrive unassembled or partly assembled. Check with the shop how delivery and returns work.

Warranty and maintenance

The warranty varies per product. For some products the product information states a 5-year manufacturer warranty, such as the Calpi 3-piece lounge set, the Cannes garden chair and the Siesta Premium in zand with a wood-look frame. For others it is 1, 2 or 3 years, and for many there is no period at all. Ask the shop which warranty applies and to what: a frame, a cushion cover and a tabletop wear in different ways.

Maintenance is simple. Clean aluminium with mild soapy water, see maintaining aluminium garden furniture. Rinse rope, wipe ceramic with a damp cloth, and let teak go grey or treat it with oil. Store cushions dry in winter; read how to store garden cushions.

Keep your proof of purchase

Take photos of your furniture on delivery and keep the proof of purchase. If you notice something later, you can show the shop exactly what has changed.

4 Seasons Outdoor or Apple Bee, and other brands

In price level and style, Apple Bee comes closest. Both are Dutch brands in the upper segment that work with series. The difference is in the details:

Who is 4 Seasons Outdoor for?

4 Seasons Outdoor suits you if you want a complete outdoor room where everything matches, and you are willing to pay more than for an entry-level set. You have a spacious terrace, like warm colours and natural materials and want to be able to add pieces later. Measure first, see how much space you need for a lounge set. Want to spend less? Look at Taste, or at the rope lounge sets of other brands. This is how to choose in four steps:

1
Lounge, dining or both

Decide whether you mainly want to lounge or eat. For both, there are low dining sets.

2
Choose material and colour

Rope and teak look warm, anthracite looks sleek. The whole series has the same shade.

3
Check what is in the set

Count the pieces and check whether a table and cushions are included.

4
Check warranty and delivery

Read the warranty per product and ask the shop about delivery and assembly.

Common mistakes when choosing

These mistakes are common in this segment.

Assuming the table is included

About half of the lounge sets come without a table. If so, choose one from the lounge tables.

Assuming a warranty per brand

The fact that some products state 5 years doesn't mean it applies to your set. Check it per product.

Ordering a cantilever parasol without a base

Most Siesta and Hacienda models come without a base. Factor in a heavy parasol base.

Checklist before you order

Go through these points before you order.

  • You know whether you are looking for a lounge set, a dining set or both
  • The dimensions fit, including space to walk around
  • You know whether a table and cushions are included
  • You have compared Taste if your budget is tighter
  • You know the warranty and what it covers
  • You have found a protective cover based on your own measurements
